Stone Guard is a Solvent-Based, Higher alkylated alkoxy siloxane & Fluro carbons resin-based product, suitable as an impregnating agent for masonry to have easy to Clean properties. It demonstrates deep penetration into a variety of absorbent mineral building materials.

Application

The solution can be applied directly to the dry, porous building material. Adjacent surfaces such as doors, windows, and other non-absorbent surfaces should be masked before spraying to avoid contact with the impregnating solution. Typically, the solution is spray applied generously and evenly, and a second coat should be applied while the first is still wet.

Large surfaces are usually treated by flooding the surface with the diluted solution. That is, the surface is sprayed with the solution and the solution can run down the surface like a curtain, the solution can also be applied by dipping or brushing.

The quantity of solution to be applied varies greatly depending on the surface porosity. Typical coverage varies between 0.1 and 1.0 liters per square meter of surface for the diluted solution. Preliminary evaluation should be conducted to determine the coverage requirements.

Precaution

The use of ammonia or amine containing cleaners or detergents will cause irreparable damage, necessitating reapplication to restore gloss.

Use of Instruction

Mix well before use. A dilution with water 1:1 is possible subject to the gloss required. Surface to receive application should be clean, dry and a minimum 28 days old. All grease, oil, bond breaker and curing residue and any other contaminants should be adequately removed from the surface prior to application. Do not apply to air or substrate temperatures below 4°C. Apply with a mop, sponge, or low-pressure hand pump sprayer.

When using sprayer immediately follow with a sponge applicator before product dries on surface. Application rates vary according to the density and texture of the substrate. Additional coats may be necessary to achieve desired appearance.

Do not apply additional coats until the previous application has completely dried, approximately 1-2 hours. Keep treated surface dry for 24 hours following application for optimum results

Maintenance

Regular cleaning may be done with water and non-ammonia or amine containing detergents. Dry buffing restores gloss and repairs scratches and scuff marks.
